Filmhuset Produksjoner AS is engaged in the production of both Norwegian and international screenplays, several of which have been highly acclaimed internationally. Icelandic director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson deserves to be mentioned, as does the popular success 101 Reykjavik, by Baltazar Kormakur.
In January 2005, the screenplay Le regard – The Gaze had its world premier at the Tromsø International Film Festival. Responsible for script and direction was Norwegian-Moroccan Nour-Eddine Lakhmari. The action takes place in Safi in Morocco, and the film was shown in both Morocco and Norway. In August 2005, Khalid Hussain’s comedy Import Eksport was the opening film at The Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund. It portrays today’s multicultural Oslo. The latest screenplay from Filmhuset Produksjoner was a Swedish co production, Sex, Hope and Love, by Lisa Ohlin. It was launched in Norwegian theatres January 27th 2006. Director Lisa Ohlin received the Innovation Award at The World Film Festival in Montreal in 2005. |
